HARRISBURG, PA: Information on the activities of Pennsylvania casinos to meet the goals of enhanced representation of diverse groups in the gaming industry and the creation of quality living wage jobs for residents of the Commonwealth is available in the fourth annual Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Diversity Report. 

The report, required under the Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, is available for download on the Board’s website home page, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov.

HARRISBURG, PA: The play of table games during August remained strong at Pennsylvania casinos resulting in a generation of tax revenue of over $8.8 million, according to figures posted today on the Gaming Control Board’s web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov.

Gross revenue from the average 918 tables in operation on a daily basis during August was $54,756,909.  Pennsylvania taxes gross table games revenue at 16% which resulted in a return of $8,835,866 of tax revenue returned to the Commonwealth.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has levied fines totaling $42,000 for regulatory violations by the operator of two casinos in the Commonwealth.

The fines were the result of consent agreements, approved by the Board at its September 14, 2011 meeting, between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and Holdings Acquisition Co., L.P., operator of the Rivers Casino in Allegheny County and HSP Gaming, LP, operator of the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday unanimously voted to renew the Category 2 casino operator’s license of Holdings Acquisition Co., LP, operator of the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County.

The seven member Board determined that Holdings Acquisition had fulfilled the obligations under its initial casino operator’s license and therefore qualified to have its license renewed. The new license is good for a three-year period.

HARRISBURG, PA: Hurricane Irene blew through the eastern part of Pennsylvania during one of the last and busiest weekends of the summer and prevented normal patronage at a number of casinos. 

Nonetheless, even with this disruption, total revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos during August rose slightly over the amount generated a year ago.

HARRISBURG: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today unanimously voted to renew the Category 1 casino operator’s license of Washington Trotting Association, Inc., operator of The Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Washington County.

The seven member Board determined that Washington Trotting Association had fulfilled the obligations under its initial casino operator’s license and therefore qualified to have its license renewed. The new license is good for a three-year period.

HARRISBURG, PA: The play of table games during July in Pennsylvania casinos set a new high in revenue and taxes produced during a single month.

According to figures released and posted on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s website, www.pgcb.pa.gov, gross revenue produced by table games play at the 10 casinos was $56,183,506.  The previous high month was March 2011 when gross revenue from table games was $54,606,617.

HARRISBURG, PA: The amount of revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos was the single highest monthly period of revenue since legalized gaming was introduced into the Commonwealth in 2006.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported on its web site today that July gross revenue at the 10 operating casinos was $218,300,465 from slot machine play. The previous high month for revenue was March 2011 with gross revenue of $214,926,433.

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today levied fines totaling $355,000 that involved 19 instances of underage gaming, and six regulatory violations involving slot machines or software that had yet to be approved.
